Stealth Doesn't Mean Gone

For the past year, I have been "stealth"! If you think I was gone, well, not exactly. Stealth to me has been a quite and reflective period in my life. I highly recommend everyone to seriously disconnect and go STEALTH. Here is what I did.

First, deactivated my FaceBook account, then reduced or eliminated any social media chatter, finally became an observer of those around me and learned a lot by listening.

During this time, I navigated through two immediate family deaths that left a question I am still trying to answer. "How do you want to be remembered", and does it really matter. Having the honor to speak on behalf of the family that had passed, allowed me to learned about who they were and find deep meanings in the way they were. Connections soon became obvious where they weren't noticed before. This happens only when you go STEALTH.

Another task I took on during my STEALTH mode was purging. Everything that didn't have a purpose went to charity or Western Waste (our trash company). This included my office, home and vehicle! I loved the simpler and cleaner environment. Now I make it a point to purge weekly and either value what I have or move it forward. My daughter isn't too keen on that yet and manages to hide the crippled dolls and other tokens.

I also, began calling people more. I read and observed so much during my STEALTH mode that I realized people (including me) were not talking. Me a PR girl, who loves to communicate suddenly felt lost without being able to do a status update. So I called people, I called my parents, I called my brother and sister, I called my friends and coworkers. I tried calling before any electronic communication. It was nice and most people, at first thought, what is wrong (why are you calling). But soon, it was obvious I was just calling. Then I called those people who come to mind but you never follow-up on. I called them too. It was great.

Now after being STEALTH, I am reformulating myself to move forward in a new way. Just because you tweet, FaceBook and text doesn't mean you communicate. After all the social media buzz some will return to talking and writing with a pen and use social media to strengthen their relationships. There isn't anything that can replace a conversation or a face to face meeting. These encounters are refreshing. Isn't that amazing? As you take part in the very important social media chatter and online, tweeting parties, ask yourself... Can You go STEALTH and observe and talk to someone?

As for me, I am surfacing but still have a lot to learn and I am enjoying being on this side. Don't worry, just because you don't see me, doesn't mean I don't see you.

I will be posting some of my magical STEALTH moments in the upcoming days, including my experience with Eat, Pray, Love, which you will love.

My dear Jetsetters, remember you don't have to hop on a plane or sail the sea to escape.

Lots of Love,
Lulu-

Have you ever thought it was time to live beautifully? It’s called The Science of Cellular Water™

Dr. Murad, Energetically Explains the Water Secret and What You Can Learn From Your Cells.

On a clear and cool Thursday night, El Segundo was abuzz with the reveal of a secret about water. I thank my dear friend Kim Shultz, who highly encouraged me to attend and learn more about improving what I am already doing to transform myself. Kim is a remarkable speech therapist who works with children at a local school.

Dr. Murad, launched his 10 week Inclusive Health program at the Murad Inclusive Spa in El Segundo, California. More than 250 people attended eager to learn more about how to transform their person from the inside out. This innovative program runs a series of tests that tell you what your cells say about you! Your cells talk? Apparently, technology has catapulted and yes they can and will tell you what you have done. The result is a number ranging from 0-100. As I sit in my office with a low-carb yogurt filled with almonds, flax seed and fresh berries and a tablespoon of olive oil alongside a bottle of water, I think “what would my cells say about me?” Everything is tailored to me! You have to love that. It is that spy or the fly on the wall that will talk. Jetsetters, our indulgent lifestyle may no longer be a secret. Caviar, sun, champagne and chocolate…. Oh no!

The Murad Inclusive Health program launch party included nutrient dense snacks to ensure everyone was alert and energized. The event’s attention to detail was complete with the spa signature orange and lemon ice water. Somehow, I still can't replicate that at home. I saw some familiar faces including an old friend and Murad esthetician, Rosa Ramirez, who gave me my first AHA Glycolic facial 15 years ago! Rosa still looks radiant and youthful. What a treat to see her last night. She is bilingual and perfect to take your jetsetter latina mom to. Call the spa, 310-726-0470.

As the event began in standing room only -- the suspense grew. “It is the water secret,” says Dr. Howard Murad, a pioneer in AHA and BHA skincare treatments and an award winning dermatologist.

Estheticians evaluated sun damage on spagoers' faces in a blue light device that spotted all the damaged areas. Amazing gifts were available in a drawing, which included two 10 week Inclusive Health programs. My friend Kim won one of the 10 week programs. Our little Naked Truth Girl Foursome (Kim, Ruby, Theresa and Me) couldn’t believe it as we cheered her in the front row. The prize valued at $1500.00 is a true gift for health and will tell Kim exactly what her cells need to maintain water in her body and help her stay youthful and energetic.

Kathleen Cox, an esthetician at Murad, was very kind to speak to Kim and our Naked Truth Girl Foursome about the benefits of the program. As she gave us her card she extended a sweet 10 percent off a future treatment with her! Kathleen’s vibrant passion about Murad was contagious. I just had to get a picture of her and Kim at the event. Kathleen motivated our foursome of girls to return and make a difference from the inside out. My sister, Ruby, is celebrating a mile-marker birthday (seriously its only 35) this month and feels she needs to integrate skincare at a more aggressive level. Ruby, Kathleen will strip your epidermis and reveal an amazing glow. If you want Kathleen to evaluate your skin email her and tell her dRV Public Relations sent you.

Dr. Murad is an amazing person who enjoys giving back to the community and will not hesitate to discuss how to improve your health, generate better skin through nutrition and the secret of water. Kim and Dr. Murad took a moment to pose for the cameras and showcase her winning program!

I also received a gift bag complete with an explanation of the Inclusive health program and a few product samples. As i got ready for bed, I lathered my eyes in the rich treatment night cream. Wrinkles and damage go away! Ok, so I am hooked and plan to return and to stock up on the Environmental Shield Vitamin C line of products. It has a lovely orange branding and smells so good.

As I embark in more activities through work at dRV Public Relations (which is a great place) a program such as this is interesting to integrate into my jetsetter lifestyle. Everyone needs to focus on making themselves a priority and ensuring they are happy to give back to everyone else around them. If you Jetset to the soccer fields or across the Atlantic, people depend on you. Improve yourself and others will benefit.

Kim, congratulations, I can’t wait to travel your "transformation journey" vicariously and learn about what your cells need.

Jetsetters, think about what your cells say about you and how you can live beautifully from the inside out. It’s more than topical! Until our next tryst!

Lots of love,
Lulu-

Philanthropy Crosses Borders... Teleton

Last night, as I put my daughter to bed and read her a story, I gave thanks for having a healthy daughter who was able to run, jump and interact in society. It made me think of how many children are not as fortune and struggle each day with the simple task of getting out of bed (some can’t). Accidents and birth defects plague the life of so many kids. The images in my head are overwhelming and saddening.

All this stems from my involvement in an international organization known as Teleton, www.teleton. As many of you know my work at dRV Public Relations, takes me frequently to Mexico where I have been lucky to take part in luxurious properties and lavish amenities in the upscale travel industry. I have enjoyed amazing cuisine, tantalizing tequila and rich culture. I never thought of how many children are touched by devastating deformities and life-threatening cancer in the great country of Mexico. It wasn’t until recently that Teleton was brought to my attention and I was asked to help them raise money for kids in Mexico! Last Friday, I spent three hours meeting with the CIO of Teleton, where I viewed children video clips and listened to the amazing mission of this organization. After various lengthy conference call and brainstorming sessions, I agreed to become involved and help raise funds in the United States for Teleton.

Teleton, through my diligent research has been helping make a difference in the lives of children in Mexico (and some US kids too) for nearly 15 years. Their mission is to raise money and build state-of-the-art rehabilitation centers throughout the country of Mexico. Many orthopedic physicians donate their time and resources to treat children with physical therapy, prosthetic limbs and family counseling. From surveys conducted, Teleton is viewed as highly credible and the most trusted non-profit organization in Mexico (before the Catholic Church). Anyone can see, at anytime where their gifts of time and money are being applied. Just walking through a CRIT center, you will see the latest equipment and witness children receiving lifesaving therapy to regain their dignity and contribute to society. The Centers have strategic architecture to stimulate the rehabilitation of children! Many of their patients and families frequently return as volunteers to help others reach their goal of movement. In fact, this organization operates so efficiently that 98 cents on the dollar go directly to services, leaving 2 cents to operations. That is astounding!

I felt a social responsibility to give back to the country that has given me so much in the form of cuisine, cocktails, art, culture, history and amazing experiences in all in lavish settings. Because of my former American Red Cross experience, this was a perfect fit for me to participate and help raise awareness in the United States. So many upscale travels are done in Mexico and it is my personal mission to generate contributions from the affluent travel market that benefits from such a great country. It is time to bridge luxe with giving in Mexico. Ultra high net-worth communities can help change the life of a child and give them the gift of dignity through a contribution to Teleton. Philanthropic endeavors go far beyond our US communities, we all need to realize we are one world and should care about our neighbors to the north, south, east and west. Look at the devastation in Haiti, the world is helping make that nation a better place.

I for one am grateful, for the gift of a healthy daughter who is able to run to me and give me good morning kisses, jump into the ocean and swim, run fearlessly on a soccer field and aim a great goal, play Barbie’s without hesitation and participate freely on a school playground. I feel lucky and want to pay it forward and help other kids and families, where I frequently work.

This is an incredible opportunity of investment for the high net-worth market. Wouldn’t it be great to know you helped children in Mexico as you land in your GV Gulfstream or Lear Jet on the coast of Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Maya? Your gift is easy … giving a child dignity is precious. Their smile will live in your heart forever.

Follow my blog and learn more about my work with Teleton. I invite you to join me within the philanthropic velvet rope. Luxuries do not lie solely in brand names and hidden destinations but in the precious gift you make to a child.
